Shock Fish: original oil painting on canvas by Bo (Baimu) Liang (2007) We know that Bo Liang is fond of fish since he has made a number of paintings and sculptures of fish, some of which are offered in our on-line gallery. However, this fish, called shock fish, is not your ordinary fish. Moreover, this fish painting shows, not only, Liang's love of fish but, also, his abilities in cubic-deconstructive painting art. The fish's mouth is a thumb; a crabs claw makes up his lower fin. There are also several faces of people embedded within the fish. It is a playful and thoughtful painting that shows that Liang's abilities stretch beyond sculpture and even beyond more tame realism, in painting. The price includes shipping for the painting, dismantled and rolled. Call or email for more details. |

by Bo Liang (Liang Bo; Baimu Liang), 2007 Bo Liang has been into the fish theme, lately. He sculpted a series of eight fish from black marble, and he has done paintings of various fishes, in various styles, some whimsical, some impressionistic, and one in a deconstructionist style. We liked both the fish and the colors of this painting. |
